In a recent poll run by Shiksha.com, about the top BSc nursing entrance exam for which candidates are preparing this year, AIIMS Nursing emerged as the top choice of aspirants. Find out which nursing entrance exams are the top choices of the aspirants this year.
About the Shiksha Poll
Around 72 percent of candidates have chosen that they are preparing for AIIMS BSc nursing entrance for the academic year 2025-26. Other top exams in the league are Indian Army BSc nursing with 11 percent of candidates opting for it; followed by JENPAS UG (West Bengal-centric BSc nursing entrance exam) with 10 percent of candidates opting for it. The Maharashtra-hailing MH CET BSc Nursing entrance exam is a choice of 2 percent of candidates. Other state-level entrance exams formed the rest 4 percent.
About BSc Nursing Entrance Exams
Here are the options provided in the Shiksha poll run for nursing entrance exams:
Option 1 - AIIMS BSc Nursing: The AIIMS BSc nursing (Hons.) exam will be held on June 1, 2025. In addition, the AIIMS BSc nursing (post-basic) nursing exam will be held on June 21, 2025. AIIMS BSc nursing entrance exam is conducted and organized by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi annually. It is an undergraduate-level entrance exam that grants admission to the nursing courses offered by AIIMS campuses across India. AIIMS BSc Nursing (Hons) programme is a four years duration course. In India, BSc Nursing (Post-basic) and BSc Nursing (Hons) Nursing degrees have 1231 seats available across all AIIMS campuses.
There are 19 AIIMS in India as of 2025 that offer BSc nursing programme to the medical aspirants. AIIMS BSc nursing score will be accepted by all the AIIMS in India that offer the BSc nursing programme.
Two important factors that AIIMS Delhi takes into account to prepare the BSc (H) nursing cut-off marks are mentioned below:
- The difficulty level of the AIIMS Nursing entrance exam
- Seat availability in the AIIMS nursing campuses as against the number of candidates who cleared the cutoff
Option 2 - MH CET BSc nursing: MH Nursing 2025 exam will be held on April 7 and April 8, 2025. Maharashtra CET Cell conducts the Maharashtra Bachelor of Science in Nursing Common Entrance Test (MH B.Sc Nursing CET) entrance exam annually. It is an online (computer-based) state-level BSc nursing entrance exam. Around 30% of seats are reserved for female candidates in all the Colleges of Maharashtra.
Option 3 - Indian Army BSc nursing: The Indian Army BSc Nursing 2025 or MNS 2025 entrance exam is cancelled by the DGMS or Directorate General of Medical Services (Indian Army). However, candidates aspiring to pursue the nursing profession for the Indian Army need to appear for the NEET UG exam to be eligible for further rounds of selection. Only female candidates can apply for this four-year-long degree course.
Option 4 - JENPAS UG: JENPAS UG entrance exam will be held on May 25, 2025. West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts the Joint Entrance Test for Nursing, Paramedical, and Allied Sciences Undergraduate exam for UG-level candidates. The offline entrance exam opens the gates for admission to Nursing, Paramedical and Allied Sciences Under undergraduate courses
Even though NEET UG scores are accepted for BSc Nursing (H), for admission to AIIMS Nursing courses, candidates must attempt and qualify for AIIMS BSc Nursing entrance exam. AIIMS Delhi has a separate entrance exam that grants admission to nursing and paramedical courses on the basis of the scores in written exam. Therefore, it is mandatory eligibility condition for admission in AIIMS institutes located in Delhi, Bhubaneswar and Rishikesh.
Yes, cutoff of reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC, and PwD categories is different from unreserved categories (General category). Generally, the AIIMS nursing cutoff for the reserved category candidates is lower than the cutoff for the unreserved category candidates.
The UP CNET 2025 (Uttar Pradesh Common Nursing Entrance Test) cutoff is released by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU) every year for the candidates who are called for counselling. Find out the cutoff score for the academic year 2025-26 as mentioned below:

Option 5 - Others: Some other popular entrance exams that offer lucrative avenues to join the nursing profession are listed below:
- PGIMER BSc Nursing Exam: The entrance exam is conducted by the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh for admission to both BSc Nursing and Post Basic BSc Nursing It is an online entrance held once a year. Being one of the prestigious institutes, the nursing entrance is tough to crack for the aspirants.
- CG BSc Nursing Exam: Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CPEB), conducts CG BSc nursing exam for the UG-level aspirants domiciled in the state of Chhattisgarh.
- RUHS Nursing Exam: Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur conducts the online BSc nursing entrance exam for candidates willing to pursue nursing in the state of Rajasthan.
- UP CNET BSc Nursing Exam: UP Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET) nursing entrance exam is conducted by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, UP, Lucknow (ABVMU) for admission to BSc Nursing Course (4 years) and Post Basic BSc Nursing Course (2 Years). It is an offline mode (pen and paper-based) exam for the duration of 200 minutes. Candidates domiciled in Uttar Pradesh of Minimum 17 years of age can apply for the exam.
- JCECE BSc Nursing Exam: The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) conducts State-level BSc Nursing and BSc Post-Basic Nursing entrance exams. It is an Offline (Pen and paper-based)
- CMC Ludhiana BSc Nursing Exam: It is an institute-level BSc nursing exam which is conducted by the Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society. It is open to all citizens of India.

Indeed, passing the AIIMS BSc nursing cutoff score is required in order to proceed to the next stages of the admissions procedure, which include seat assignment and counselling. A merit list is released by the AIIMS based on entrance exam results (and perhaps interview results). Candidates who achieved more than the qualifying marks—also referred to as the cut-off score—for their category are listed here. Candidates will only be contacted for counselling if their names appear on the merit list.
