UPSC has confirmed again through an official notice that the IAS prelims 2020 will be conducted on October 4. The IAS aspirants are arguing that there are two papers in the IAS prelims 2020 exam and there is a gap of two hours. Where will the IAS aspirants sit or stay in these two hours? Does the IAS exam venue take up the responsibility for making arrangements for this time gap? Secondly, what about the IAS aspirants who are corona positive and asymptomatic. What about the security of other IAS aspirants appearing in the same exam venue? Who will ensure the security of the IAS Aspirants?

The IAS aspirants are also quoting the low percentage of attendance in other competitive exams. Some of the reactions on twitter are as follows.

UPSC has not announced anything regarding the Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) for the exam day. The UPSC has not assigned any responsibilities to the IAS Exam venues. Some of the pertinent questions are as follows.

  • What will the candidates be required to do in the time gap between the papers? Or What arrangement will the Exam venue authorities?
  • What will be modalities if someone has a fever in the Exam venue?
  • What will be the SOP if someone develops a fever in the afternoon session?

Moreover, the IAS exam venues are in the farthest corner of the cities, so the UPSC should also ensure that all the SOPs are followed by the exam venue at the remotest corner of the nation.

So these are the questions which need to be answered by UPSC and the responsibilities of the IAS exam venues should be assigned strictly.
