The Union Public Service Commission releases the IAS admit card on its online service portal - upsconline.nic.in and in addition to that, the Commission also released the IAS admit card link on upsc.gov.in. The candidates can follow the link and download their CSP admit card. IAS 2024 admit card will be released in the last week of May 2024. The Union Public Service Commission releases the IAS admit card much before the official timeline of three weeks. The IAS 2024 exam will be conducted on June 16, 2024.

The candidates will be required to download their admit card from the official website - upsc.gov.in. The candidates will be required to download their UPSC Civil Service admit card from the official website. We will provide the direct link to download the IAS 2024 admit card. The Commission will ask for the number of Photo Identity Cards in the IAS 2024 application. The candidates will be required to carry the same identity card with the admit card to secure entry into the IAS examination centre.

Q:   When will IAS 2024 Prelims Admit Card be release?

A:

The Union Public Service Commission will release the IAS 2024 admit card in the last week of May 2024. The Commission will conduct the IAS 2024 exam on June 16. The Commission has a standard time line of releasing the admit card, three weeks before the exam date. But for the IAS exam, the Commission releases the admit card much before this timeline.

 

How to download the UPSC IAS Admit Card 2024?

Candidates can download their UPSC admit card by following the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of UPSC (http://www.upsc.gov.in/).

Step 2: Click on the Admit Card link available on the Home page of the website.

Step 3: Read the instructions given on the page and click on the Yes button.

Step 4: Select any of the given two options – By Registration ID or By Roll Number.

Step 5: Enter registration ID and date of birth (if ‘By Registration ID’ is selected) or roll number and date of birth (if ‘By Roll Number’ is selected).

Step 6: Click on the Submit button.

How to Download IAS Admit Card without a Registration ID?

Candidates can follow the steps mentioned below to recover/ re-generate their registration ID:

Step 1: Visit the official website of UPSC (http://www.upsc.gov.in/).

Step 2: Click on the Admit Card link available on the Home page of the website.

Step 3: Read the instructions given on the page and click on the Yes button.

Step 4: Click on the link, "Forgot RID'

Step 5: Enter the following details:

  • Name
  • Father's name
  • Mother's name
  • Date of birth
  • Captcha code as shown on the screen

Step 6: Click on Submit.

On clicking the button, a registration ID will be re-generated.

In case, candidates are not able to download their admit card, they should contact the commission immediately. The official website informs, “Information in this regard can also be obtained from the Facilitation Counter located in the commission’s office either in person or over phone Nos. 011-23381125/011- 23385271/ 011-23098543.”

Details mentioned in IAS admit card

The IAS admit card is the official letter entitling the candidates to appear in the IAS exam. One important point mentioned in the Civil Services admit card is that the candidates can use only a black point pen in the IAS Exam. Other details mentioned in the IAS admit card are as follows:

  2. Roll Number

  4. Father's Name
  5. Mother's Name

Documents required with IAS admit card

Along with the Civil Services admit card, the candidates required identity proof issued by government authorities. This Id proof is essential for appearing in the IAS exam. Following Id proofs can be shown in the IAS exam along with the admit card:

  5. Voter Id card(EPIC Card)

IAS Prelims exam day instructions

UPSC has released special instructions for the candidates to take precautions in times of the COVID-19 pandemic. The exam day instructions are given below.

Coronavirus pandemic-specific instructions

  • The UPSC has made the mask mandatory for all the candidates and the candidates having no mask or face cover will not be allowed in the exam venue.
  • The candidate will have to remove the mask for verification purposes whenever required by the Invigilator. In case the invigilator asks for the identification of the candidate, he or she will be required to show his/her face.
  • The candidates may carry their own hand sanitiser in a small transparent bottle.
  • All the candidates need to follow the norms of ‘social distancing’ and ‘personal hygiene’ inside the examination venue. 

General Instructions

  • One important change this year the IAS prelims admit card structure. This year the UPSC has printed the identity card number on the admit card itself and the candidates are required to carry the same Government identity card with them to the exam venue.
  • The candidates should reach the UPSC exam centres ten minutes before the commencement time of the IAS prelims exam. The candidates might be asked for frisking and it requires time.
  • All types of electronic or communication devices are prohibited at the exam venue. The candidates cannot carry the mobile device even in the switch off mode. If the candidate is found with any such device, disciplinary action will be taken against him/her which could lead to a ban from the future UPSC exams.
  • The candidates should mark their answers on the OMR sheet with a black ballpoint pen only. The answers marked by any other colour pen will not be evaluated.
  • If the candidate mark any specific mark on the roll number or the details given in the answer sheet
  • The candidates should note that any omission/ mistake/discrepancy in encoding/filling in details in the OMR answer sheet, especially with regard to Roll Number and Test Booklet Series Code, will render the answer sheet liable for rejection. Though, it can be changed at the exam venue itself if the invigilator permits to do so.

Q:   Is the UPSC IAS admit card 2023 released?

Yes, the Union Public Service Commission has released the IAS admit card 2023 on its official website - upsconline. Nic. In. The Commission also released the IAS admit card link on its website UPSC. Gov. In. The candidates can follow the link and download the IAS admit card 2023 by entering their registration number and date of birth. After entering the said details, the candidates will be required to enter the Captcha code as shown on the screen. The IAS admit card 2023 will appear on the screen. Download it and save it for future reference.
 

Q:   When does UPSC release the admit card?

A:
The UPSC releases the admit card of the exam three weeks before the date of exam. But after the COVID-19 pandemic, UPSC is working proactively and issuing the admit card well before the expected date. IAS 2023 exam will be conducted on May 28 and as per the official timeline, the UPSC is expected to release the UPSC IAS admit card 2023 soon. Q:   When was IAS 2023 admit card released?

A:
The IAS 2023 admit card was released on May 8. The UPSC will conduct the IAS 2023 exam in 79 cities only and there are over 600 districts in the country. The candidates are required to travel to the exam city and sometimes the exam city is very far from the residence of the candidate. The Commission will conduct the IAS prelims exam in offline mode on May 28 at the designated exam centres across the nation. IAS 2023 exam will be conducted offline at the designated exam centres. The Commission will inform the IAS exam centre in the admit card only.
 

Q:   What if one does not have the IAS admit card?

A:
IAS admit card is the authorisation letter required to secure entry to the examination centre. The candidates cannot appear for the IAS exam without the IAS admit card. But the IAS admit card is available online to download so there cannot be an issue. The examination authority will not allow the candidates (without admit card) to enter the examination centre. Sometimes, the candidates with no admit card is allowed to appear in the paper 1 but they need to furnish an undertaking to produce the admit card in the second shift.
 

Q:   What if I lost my UPSC admit card?

A:
The candidates can download the IAS admit card in case they lost it. Even on the day of exam, the candidates can appear in the first paper and show their IAS admit card in the second shift. The candidates will be require to sign an undertaking that they will produce the IAS admit card in the second shift. The candidates can download their IAS admit card even if they forget their registration number. The UPSC admit card will be available till the exam day for downloading purpose. The candidates should take two copies of the UPSC admit card to produce another copy in such cases.
 

Q:   Do we need Colour print out of UPSC admit card?

A:
The candidates should take the colour printout of the IAS admit card to present the clear picture of theirs. The candidates can take the black and white print out too but in case of blurry photograph, the candidates can suffer at the examination centre while comparing the face of the candidate with the scanned image shown in the admit card. The coloured printout will help the candidates to gain the entry at the examination centre easily.
 

Q:   Is there any dress code mentioned in the IAS admit card?

A:
There is no official dress code for appearing in the IAS exam. The candidates should wear a decent and comfortable dress for the IAS exam. The candidates should note that the candidates can be frisked at the IAS examination centre in case of any doubt. There are instructions for the exam day but it does not mention much about the dress code. The candidates will not be allowed to carry any digital gadget into the examination hall. Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, headphones, and smart watches are banned at the examination centre.
 

Q:   Can I obtain a duplicate IAS admit card if I lose my original one?

A:
Yes, you can download the IAS admit card again from the official website. There is no restriction on downloading the IAS admit card from the official website. The candidates can do so any number of times till the IAS exam date. The candidates will be required to carry one photo identity proof with them to the examination centre. The type and number of such identity cards were asked in the IAS application form. The candidates are required to carry the same identity card as mentioned on their admit card.
 

Q:   Does IAS admit card prohibits any Gadgets at Exam Centre?

A:
The Union Public Service Commission provides a list of gadgets/things which are prohibited at the IAS examination centre. The candidates will be required to read the exam day instructions released by the Commission along with the UPSC admit card.
