IISER sets new eligibility criteria for students | Check Details

The Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISER) have made a few amendments to the eligibility criteria set for the 2020-21 academic session due to the impact of the global pandemic known as COVID-19 (Coronavirus). However, the changes made is only for this season as a one-time exception. The cut-off marks in Class 12 or eligibility for IISER admissions in 2020 are as follows: The candidate either has to secure a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade for General/OBC and OBC-NCL categories and 55% for SC/ST/PwD in any boards or the cut-off marks already announced for each of the boards, whichever is lower.

IISER had earlier postponed the IISER Entrance Exam which was scheduled to be conducted on August 12, 2020, and a new date will be announced soon. IISER has also decided to extend the application window further to August 16, 2020. The last date to apply for IISER Entrance Exam was July 22, 2020, however, due to the raging COVID-19 cases in India, the renowned institute has decided to extend the application window and a new schedule will be released soon.

How to Apply for IISER Entrance Exam

Step 1: Visit the official ‘Admission’ page of IISER Entrance Exam.

Step 2: Click on ‘Apply Online’ for either KVPY or SCB as interested in.

Step 3: On registering, the candidate has to log in and proceed to fill the IISER Entrance Exam application form.

Step 4: The candidate will have to enter their personal and academic details as required on the IISER Entrance Exam application form.

Step 5: Upload the images according to the size and dimensions mentioned in the application form.

Step 6: Once all the details are filled, the student can proceed to pay the application fee via online mode i.e. net banking/credit card/debit card.

Step 7: Once the payment has been made, the candidate will receive a mail on their email IDs confirming the candidate applying for IISER Entrance Exam.
