BIT Mesra allot seats to the applicants based on their scores in the accepted examinations. There are 153 seats for the integrated MSc programmes at the institute. The seat intake varies for each of the course specialisation.  

To apply for most B.Sc. courses, you generally need at least 50% marks in your aggregate (total score) in your +2 or Intermediate Science exams. However, meeting the total percentage isn't enough; you must also meet "Hons. Specific" criteria. For example, to study BSc Physics at  St. Xavier's College Ranchi, you need 50% in Physics and 45% in Mathematics.

BSc (Hons) in Biotechnology curriculum at Amity University, Ranchi, is divided over six semesters. The subjects included in the curriculum cover relevant topics of Biotechnology allied sciences. Some subjects included in the curriculum are listed below:

UMU offers various specialisations under its BSc programme. Admissions to all the courses are made based on merit in Class 12. The eligibility criteria for all the BSc courses is Class 12 with science. Except for the Maths and Computing course, the eligibility criteria is 50% Class 12 with Maths.
