IISER TVM - A beautiful place to pursue your scientific interests.
Placements: At IISER TVM (and generally across all IISERs), placements are not the primary focus. Students do not enroll here merely to secure a job but to genuinely explore their passion and pursue a deep understanding of various scientific disciplines. While placements in Data Science are notable not many students opt for direct placements. Most choose to pursue higher education such as Ph.D. programs, after completing their BS-MS degrees. A significant number of students secure admissions in prestigious institutions both within India and internationally.
Infrastructure: The campus of IISER TVM is well-equipped with modern infrastructure. Free Wi-Fi is accessible everywhere on campus including hostels, mess, academic blocks and the library. Hostel accommodations are clean and big with shared rooms (initially for 2 students, later increased to 3). Classrooms are primarily located in the Lecture Hall Complex (LHC) with capacities ranging from 250 to 300 students. Separate buildings exist for Physical, Chemical and Biological Sciences with another dedicated building under construction for Mathematical and Data Sciences. The library, though limited in physical books offers a vast collection of e-books and online resources, including research papers and journals in various fields such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Data Sciences, Environmental Science, Economics and Literature. The mess provides good quality food and several affordable eateries within the campus offer a variety of options. The campus also has a 24x7 health center to cater to student's medical needs. Sports enthusiasts have numerous options including volleyball courts, cricket nets, a football turf, an indoor stadium for badminton and table tennis, a basketball court and dedicated grounds for football and cricket. Most sports facilities are equipped with professional coaches. For extra-curricular activities, there is a music room, a dance room and a student recreation center.
Faculty: The faculty members at IISER TVM are highly qualified professionals who are approachable and friendly. The courses are designed to be flexible, preparing students to face competition in the scientific world. The grading system is fair, with multiple quizzes, one mid-semester exam, and one end-semester exam, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation.

Review of Indian Institute of Science Education & Research.
Placements: Many seniors were offered positions in reputed laboratories across the world. Placement cell help students to get a job in the industry or start-up fields.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is fantastic. Labs are up-to-date with sophisticated equipment and fully air-conditioned. Hostel rooms are spacious with a bed, desk, a chair, and open shelves along with cupboards. There is an indoor stadium with a badminton court, a table tennis court, and an outdoor and indoor basketball court. Mess food is fine but there are several eateries and cafes. We have a medical center to tend to any urgent needs.
Faculty: Teachers are extremely knowledgeable and most of them make an effort to teach well. The courses make us think from a research standpoint and accomplish that. Since the grading is relative, the difficulty of the paper does not impact the CGPA.
Other: I think IISER is a dream for student who wants to pursue research. It has very reputed Biology faculty, and it's a great place to be for a science lover.

It has a competitive and enriching environment with helpful professors, but no great placements.
Placements: Most of the students from IISER TVM opt to do a Ph.D. The stipend for a Ph.D. varies from 800 to 2000 euros. They apply in the US and Europe for a Ph.D. position. There are very few students who go to industry after BSMS. There is a new placement cell here that is trying to help students get jobs.
Infrastructure: Two people can stay in one hostel room. The view from the hostel is amazing. The corridors are cleaned every day, and the room is spacious enough. There is Wi-Fi everywhere on the campus. Mess food is manageable and there are some really good eateries inside the campus.
Faculty: Professors are very helpful. They guide you in making decisions regarding your internship and future. The course structure is constantly being revised so it stays up-to-date. The lab courses are also helpful. The curriculum makes the students ready for a career in academia. Semester exams are moderately difficult. The grading is relative, and the difficulty of a subject is left to the course instructor.
Other: Commuting to and fro is really hard as the campus is 2 hours away from the city.

Absolutely satisfied by campuslife and facilities.
Placements: There will not be campus placement to any company from the campus. Students who complete their masters degree generally go for Ph.D. The certificate has great value internationally so it will be easy to get Ph.D. abroad (it also depends on academic performance). .
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure is top class. We have the best labs and research facilities in Kerala. All buildings including classes are air conditioned. And free Wi-Fi is available 24x7 in hostels and in academic buildings. Food is also very good in the mess but if one doesn't like the food, there is always option to buy from cafes inside campus which are really good.
Faculty: Teachers are very qualified. They all are scientists and have a great experience in researching. The syllabus is very tough and it is hard to get good grades especially if there are many bright students in the class as the technique of relative grading is used where ones grade is compared to grades of other students to determine if he/she is passed or not. Every year at least 5 percent students fail.

It has a great campus, infrastructure, and research-based curriculum but don't expect placements.
Placements: There are no placements as such. Most of the students apply for Ph.D. programs after completion. A job recruitment cell has just been started now, but there are no guaranteed placements. The fifth and final year of the course is exclusively for the completion of a major project. After that, you can apply for Ph.D. programs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is top-notch. Laboratories are probably one of the best in the country. Library is well maintained. There are a lot of books for you to refer. Wi-Fi is available on the campus. Hostel rooms could have been bigger. Mess is okay. Everything else is fine.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. However, since each batch has a very high number of students, it is not so easy to clear doubts then and there. You have to rely on teaching assistants for this. The curriculum is research-oriented. It will make you ready for your future research endeavors. Pass percentage changes because of relative grading.
