Aeronautical engineering is available only in IIT and not in any NIT. So if you are thinking of admission in any NIT based on JEE Mains percentile, I am afraid it's not possible but based on your performance in JEE Mains only you can appear for JEE Advanced which is the entrance exam for getting admission in IIT. Of course there are some private colleges and some States which have assigned JEE Mains as entrance exam for the colleges in the states in such case of course in JEE Mains ranking will be of use. I am attaching a link which will predict college for you based on the percentile figure. Using this you can check at

Hello E Jagdish,
It's great to hear from you that you will soon be completing your graduation in aeronautical engineering branch and is looking for a career. I would advise you that please have a look at websites of ISRO, DRDO or IAF. These are three premium employers. Alternatively you can register yourself in "naukari.com" for getting offers. You can think of doing MBA or MS abroad. Even getting into civil service is good option.
Best wishes to you.

Yes, indeed. Diploma holders of mechanical engineering can definitely seek lateral admission in aeronautical engineering branch. In fact to authenticate what I am saying you can visit the concerned web page of your state's DTE of tech education. Here, you will find a table giving as to which branch of diploma is eligible for which branches of engineering. Best wishes to you.

Hello Ritesh Kumar,
It's very nice to hear your enthusiasm for Aeronautical branch of Engineering. But may I ask you a question why this particular branch? This branch has the aura but on ground, the placements are very hard to come by. Majority of the students end up doing MBA or going abroad for their MS. Please have a look once again at your thought process and you may decide to change your branch. Okay.
