Your query us quite good. A student with Diploma in aeronautical engineering branch will be definitely eligible for admission in lateral mode for graduation in aeronautical engineering branch. Unfortunately problem comes up in the mindset of states. Almost every state has restricted these admissions to students who are domicile of that state. Hence if you do not have domicile of Tamil Nadu, I feel it would be quite tough to get admission in MIT, Chennai. You can refer to the eligibility documents on the website of Anna University.

Fundamentally, there is very less scope for core aeronautical engineering branch jobs in India. But one can get into armed forces, DRDO, ISRO or some private industries also.

Admissions to private colleges in Karnataka are given via two CET's. One conducted by Govt of Karnataka for quota against government seats and second by COMEDK organized by private colleges in the state. You should appear for both the exams.

Once someone does MBA, his previous education is sort of erased. The person becomes a manager. In addition, IIM- A desires that the class should have as wide an exposure as possible of other streams hence at least one student belongs to the widest possible stream of education. Best opportunities come to IIM-A way!
