Once someone does MBA, his previous education is sort of erased. The person becomes a manager. In addition, IIM- A desires that the class should have as wide an exposure as possible of other streams hence at least one student belongs to the widest possible stream of education. Hello Kundoju, IIT's accept Diploma as equivalent to 12th. Hence you can seek admission in any of the IIT's by qualifying in JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. Please ensure that you score 75% or more in Diploma.

Here you will come to know if lateral admissions are based on marks of Diploma or based on entrance exam. Else you may check website of different private deemed to be universities. Some of them do offer lateral admissions.
