Amity University is considered as the best university in terms of study and placement too. Every year it provides good placement. So, I would suggest you that it's better to pursue engineering.

Both the fields are good. But, I would suggest you reconsidering about aeronautical engineering as India don't provide much career opportunities in aeronautics. Bangalore is famous for its aviation industry, yet I personally suggest you to complete Bachelors in core branch like for computer or mechanical and then later on you can specialise in aeronautics, aerodynamics or computer science, cyber security, etc. Just try to keep as much as possible options open for you.

Yes, you are eligible for aeronautical engineering after your Diploma in mechanical engineering. You are eligible for lateral entry in the second year of BE/Tech.
