You are advised to appear for JEE after 10+2 in PCM subjects and aim for B.Tech in aeronautical engineering from IITs, PEC University, Chandigarh, IIST. You may also evaluate doing B.Tech aeronautical engineering from Manipal or Amity University.

Yes, after qualifying GATE exam, you can enter into the teaching field.
The benefits of qualifying Gate Exam:
* Pursue M.Tech or M.Sc from India or abroad.
* If your GATE score is low but you want to do M.Tech or MS from a reputed institute, you can work as an assistant to the professor for a year or two. This way you can get a really useful recommendation (LOR) necessary for pursuing higher studies abroad.
* If your score is high, get into an IIM (Indian Institute of Management) B-school through GATE Score
* You can teach at GATE coaching classes (Part-time or Full-time).
* Go for recruitment in PSUs such as BHEL, IO

Hello Kunal,
Process for engineering in aeronautics or in any other branch is same. If you are desirous of getting admission in IIT or NIT, appear for JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. For entry in colleges of your own states, you have to appear for CET. Some states have separately CET for private colleges. Some deemed universities have pan India entrance tests.

You are not eligible for aeronautical engineering's main subjects such airframe, propulsion, etc based on your electrical engineering background. You may opt for some specialisations such as avionics, aviation information systems, etc.

Aeronautical engineering is a niche branch of engineering. The opportunities for an aeronautical Engineer is with DRDO, ISRO and other R&D organizations, aeronautical manufacturing companies and it ancillaries, airlines, IT companies with engineering vertical, Indian Air Force, etc.

To get admission in IIST is done through JEE advance and the forms will be available from May 2017 onwards. You can download the PDF from IIST.ac.in to go through the complete brochure and other information required.
