The skills needed are somehow identical as both relate to the camera. The VJ job is informal and carries some casual aspect of presentation whereas, a news presenter is to be a formal, disciplined, strong and firm in communication, balanced in opinion as well as highly informed about topics of politics, social matters, education, economics and others. Basically, general awareness is needed. Formal mass media education, electronic m

This question needs two submissions from the student's side:
1. what are the academic or educational credentials of the person?
2. Based on what skills, expertise, experience and appearance does the aspiring video jockey wants to claim the job?
Answer by assuming that the person is having some substantial education like graduation or something which makes him or her a literate person. I shall not recommend the observation that even an illiterate person can become an VJ. So proper education, excellent language skills in the targeted or demanded language, fluency in speaking, sense of humor and courtesy, improvisation in the live speech,

Hi Dipanshu!
To become an anchor, you do not need any educational qualification as such. It is a talent-based profession, it requires a good command over language and a sense of humour. An anchor must maintain wit and humour at all times to make up for any slip of tongue that they may make. It is of utmost importance to have good communication skills and fluent language. In order to become a reporter, you need to have a journalism degree or Diploma because the news channels hire only professionals with media related education background.

NDTV and Zee TV have their own courses run by themselves. Both are in great demand in the job market. Plus there is a central government owned Film and Television institute in Pune. Try your luck.

I suggest, understanding the course curriculum syllabus first, before joining any institution or university of your choice. Make a deliberate attempt to relate the same to any career options that you wish to venture in post completion of your degree or course. Prefer doing it from a place which has a good number of work options or media organizations in proximity. Metro cities shall be good options.
Do research for the kind of work profiles available in this industry to make a career. You may consider visiting RK Films and Media Academy in Delhi (RKFMA) for any support or pursuing specialized programs.
