Traditional Architecture is more towards older days construction techniques and designs, contemporary architecture is in contrast to it, it uses all modern techniques and technologies of construction.

Both the courses you have mentioned have a lot of potential in their own ways. B.Plan is more towards city planning and infrastructure management of a city and architecture is more towards designing buildings and neighborhood's, so scales of both the professions vary a lot. Your choice of course depends on you and your choice i.e which course are you looking forward to.
