No, Aston University does not allow combining different scholarships. Students are generally only allowed to hold one university scholarship per programme of study.

Key Aston University scholarship policies that Indian students must keep in mind are:

  • Students who qualify for multiple scholarships, will automatically recieve the one with the highest-value
  • Combining scholarships is not allowed, but, students can apply for multiple scholarships to see which ones they qualify for
  • Awards are generally applied directly as a tuition fee discount to the student account

A placement year at Aston University extends the overall programme duration by 1 year, meaning you'll have to pay a higher total Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) for your student visa. But it does not change the post-graduation duration of the Graduate Route Visa itself which is valid for 2 years for applications made on before Dec 31, 2026. Any applications made later this date, reduces the duration to 18 months.

Yes, students can change their course at the Aston Uni, however, it depends on the course, and the time of the year.

  • Part-way courses changes are rarely permitted during the year. For these, students usually need to wait until the start of the next academic year.
  • Transfers are not permitted into Aston Medical School or programs like Pharmacy, Optometry, and Audiology courses

Email the Aston University admission team with your UCAS or Student ID and the exact course you wish to transfer to.
