Take your IELTS first. An overall score of 6.5 with no section less than 6 is recommended. Visit university websites for specific entry requirements like minimum academic grades, application deadlines, etc. You must also submit a statement of purpose and recommendation letters also. Check universities under Australian Technology Network for engineering programs. RMIT,University of Technology Sydney are good.You can check TAFE institutes too for your diploma.

Difference are generally in terms of selectivity: Canadian universities are more competitive and selective compared to Australian universities, in terms of program structure MS in Canada is highly research oriented or course based which is not research based. Such segregation is not seen in Australian universities though MS programs are research based. PGD is a diploma course available both the countries, as mentioned Canada is more selective.
