B.Des Eligibility

Candidates who have passed Class 12 from state board/ CBSE/ ISCE/ IB or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate can apply for BDes programme at GLS Institute of Design. Aspirants must have documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission.

Candidates who have completed Class 12 in any stream from a recognised board can apply for AI Integrated BDes programme at Sri Sukhmani Institute of Design. Aspirants must have documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission.

Candidates must have passed 10+2 pass/appearing (any stream) or a 3 years Diploma (equivalent to 10+2) from any recognised higher secondary board/institute.

To apply through DECODE B.Des:

Candidates applying for admission in the Bachelor of Design (BDes) course meet DE-CODE 2026 eligibility criteria if they have cleared their HSC examination (10+2) or have completed their 10+2 level from any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination or any other recognised examination with minimum 45% aggregate marks.

Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination. They must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category) in qualifying examination. 

The eligibility criteria for SOFT B.Des is

• XIIth Pass in any Stream – Arts/Commerce/Science/Home-Science/Minimum Competency Vocational Course (MCVC), including National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).
• Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE)/ other State Govt. Technical Education full-time Diploma of minimum three years after Std Xth (any stream)
• For NRI & Foreign students with equivalence from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi

The eligibility parameters for admissions to the BDes course at CMR SOD are simple and usual, in which students need to complete HSC first, and then appear for the entrance test and secure an acceptable score in CMRU DAT/ NATA/ NID/ NIFT/ UCEED.

For BDes admissions, you have both options available: merit- and entrance based entry. Most of the top design institutes give admission on the basis of relevant entrance exam scores like NIFT Entrance Exam, NID DAT, UCEED, CUET, etc. along with PI and portfolio submission rounds. You will also find many design colleges that offer admission solely on the basis of Class 12 merit.

VIT Vellore BDes eligibility criteria is to qualify Class 12 from the recognised board with 50% marks for general category. Students visit the official website. 

Candidates who have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 40% aggregate are eligible to apply for BDes programme at VSURAJ. Aspirants must have documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission. The selection for BDes is based on qualifying exam scores of the candidates.
