Hello Pyaswanth, it's indeed intriguing to hear from you that you are interested in getting a job while studying in third year of engineering. Well, you can surely and definitely do it. Only issue is you will have to juggle between studying for your engineering and spending time to earn money. You can take tuitions for students of first or second year students. Hello Dilshad, very fact that you have completed Bachelor of engineering from an IIT indicates that you have good academics. Now there are plenty of fields which are open to you. You can go for post graduation in some specialisation from mechanical engineering. This can lead you to go in for Ph.D. and research oriented work there after. Else you can think of doing MBA and join MNC or any good Indian company. Law, government entity has to give equal opportunity to each and every student. Because of this, normally speaking, you will find no Public Sector Unit coming for placements in any of the colleges. Many of the PSU's have now taken the safe route of asking candidates to appear for GATE and based on the score in GATE they are called for interview round.

As per the AICTE guidelines, Doing B.E/B.Tech through distance/ correspondence mode from anywhere is not valid for employment and higher education purpose. Hence never be pursue.
