Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) ask for a minimum of 75% marks in Class 12 board exams, in the Science background with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects. You need to work hard for your board exams and make sure you get at least 75% marks overall, to be eligible for admission to the IITs in India. The competition is very high there, given their status and NIRF ranking in India, and hence, their minimum marks requirement is also high as compared to other universities that may consider you for admission with 50 to 60% marks in Class 12 as well.

It may differ from college to college. Every academic institution has their own set of guidelines that they follow for admission to various BTech specializations. The time involved in the admission process may take a few weeks to a few months. After you appear for your entrance exams, the general procedure involves the declaration of exam results, applying for the counselling process online, seat allotment on the basis of your exam rank, and admission confirmation from your end by visiting the college and paying the necessary BTech course fee.
