For the majority of programmes at Banaras Hindu University, admission to courses is determined by entrance. A one-year dropout student may therefore apply for the desired course; nevertheless, they must be eligible for that entrance. The applicant should also fulfil the minimal eligibility requirements particular to the course. Furthermore, an application explaining their cause for dropping out may be required of the student. Even this is not always necessary.

No, there is no provision for additional benfits to the students who are residents of Varanasi. However, the university may admit students under Employee Quota. Wherein, son/daughter of BHU employees get benefits under the quota. There are 10% of seats of total admission. Additionally, the OBC, ST, and SC quota makes it up to 25%. Hence, there are 48% of seats for the general category candidates. The information mentioned here is taken from the web and hence, is indicative.

There are 47 seats in MA mass communication programme in Banaras Hindu University and 20 seats in hindi journalism programme in Bananas Hindu University. For taking admission in banaras hindu university in Diploma in journalism and mass communication you have to obtain good enough marks in BHUET, which is and entrance exam for these courses which is conducted by Banaras Hindu University.

Candidates must register and appear for the CUET entrance exam to apply for BHU BCom admissions. Candidates will also need to pay the BHU BCom application fee of INR 650 (General/ OBC Category)/ INR 550 (SC/ST Category). The steps mentioned-below show how to apply for the BHU BCom courses:
- Visit the official NTA portal for CUET(cuet.samarth.ac.in) and register on it.
- Fill out the application form.
- Attach all necessary documents.
- Select courses and BHU as per your preference and pay the CUET application fee as mentioned above.
