As per BHU cutoff 2024 for the last-round seat allotment, the minimum rank stood at 1098 for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course for the General AI category candidates. Similarly, for the OBC category, the minimum rank stood at 1585 for the MBBS course.

It is among India's top universities in the world rankings. The QS World University Ranking 2024 places the university between 1001-1200. The university was placed 37 in the Asian University Rankings- Southern Asia category, 601+ in the QS Sustainability Ranking, and 501-550 in the QS WUR Ranking by subject for 2023. Banaras Hindu University is ranked eight among the top university and colleges under the “Medical” category by NIRF 2023 rankings. Moreover, the median package offered to UG course was INR 15 LPA as per BHU NIRF report 2023.

BHU ranked 5 and 11 in the ‘University’ and ‘Overall’ categories, respectively, by the NIRF Rankings in 2023. BHU BDS ranking by India Today 2023 was 3 out of 61 colleges in India. BHU’s university ranking by the QS World University Ranking 2025 is 1001-1200.
