It is very nice to see your aim of pursuing your post-graduation in engineering in the branch of biotechnology from GITAM. It is the Geetham Deemed to be university from which you are doing your graduation in engineering and are in 3rd year. Correct? In such a situation I would like to advise you to just walk across the office of your registrar or the officer in charge of Administration or the officer in charge of Academics and this person will brief you about the different branches of Engineering in which you can do your post-graduation from GITAM.

An interdisciplinary field that includes mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering and others, it combines various- technologies to either create a new product or modify an existing one to suit our needs. A bio-technologist may find jobs in various quarters. Biotechnology jobs in India can be found in the following fields:
Drug and pharmaceutical research
Public funded laboratories
Chemicals

1) you can opt for Ph.D. or work as research fellow at any institute such as THSTI, IISER, NII, RCB, AIIMS, PGIMER, SCTIMST etc.
2) You can also apply in good pharma companies such as Panacea Biotech, Fresenius kabi, Sun Pharma, Cipla, Cadila etc. Several positions are available such as QA/QC/ Business Development/ Research Scientist/ Consultant etc. ,
3) if your interest is in teaching- you can apply as a lecturer at any good college/ university offering biotechnology.
4) I would also recommend you to be a entrepreneur and start your own venture. Its never too late to begin new! Explore new opportunity!

You can go for Delhi University, Panjab University, JNU, BHU for admission to Biotechnology and Bioinformatics course. Detailed information you can get from universities site.
