The selection of candidates is based on JEE  (Main) rank. The university shortlist students based on their entrance exam score and whether they meet the eligibility requirements or not. The shortlisted students further are required to take part in the counselling round, during which the seat allotment procedure is carried out.

As per the university prospectus, candidates must appear for JEE Main to be admitted to CSJMU. The fulfilment of minimum eligibility criteria is also crucial. Hence, the applicant shall be a Class 12 pass with core subjects in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Eligible students can further apply by visiting the CSJMU website. The fulfilment of eligibility criteria is necessary for application form acceptance. However, the seat allotment is based on the selection criteria.

  1. IMU's Common Entrance Test (CET): Candidates are required to appear for the centralized test conducted by the university, namely IMU CET, for admission to the B.Tech programme in Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering

The Indian Maritime University (IMU) offers B.Tech in Marine Engineering at its Chennai and Mumbai campuses. The admission is based on the IMU Common Entrance Test (CET) score. According to the IMU academic brochure, the eligibility criteria for B.Tech in Marine Engineering is 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate in PCM and a minimum of 50% marks in English.
