West bengal government conducts an entrance exam for admission on lateral basis. I am attaching a link that will tell you all about this examination and different aspects of it for admissions. In Maharashtra you will have to fill in the form online available on the website of directorate of technical education of Maharashtra.

There is no any criteria for admission on the basis of your 12th board. Admission Process at Institute Of Technology, Nirma University for B.Tech. Degree is divided into three categories-
1) Gujarat State Quota (50%)
2) All India Quota (35%)
3) NRI/NRI sponsored Quota (15%)
Thus, if anyone applies for All India seats college prepares a rank list based on AIR (All India Rank) and respective ranks are allotted to each applying candidate. Entire admission process will be carried out considering this rank. And that is ITNU rank.
