Canada is a developed country with multiple opportunities in various industries/occupation. Engineering is one of the prominent industry in Canada, and certainly mechanical engineering has good demand throughout Canada. Its also a part of Canadas demand list for skilled professional where in Canada is trying to fulfill its skilled labour shortage by allowing people from overseas to apply for a direct PR (Permanent Resident visa). Post completing your MS in mechanical, depending upon the province or the territory, you might be able to apply for a direct PR or PGWPP (Post Graduate Work Permit programme) which is inline with your course duration (for example, a 2 years course will get you a 2 years PGWPP, etc.) which will allow you to stay in Canada post your education & look for relevant opportunities in your field of study and can allow you to work in any part of Canada (Open work permit) which will help you to apply for respective jobs available throughout the country & also will help you gain international exposure, which in turn would help you settle in the country. All you have to do is start with a positive approach. You have the upper hand of holding a valid visa. If you are plannig to study your Master's degree in Canada then doing the 1-year PG Diploma in Canada itself would have been the ideal way, however, what comes into play is the question of reapplying for the visa, work permit, etc. A Master's degree admission is also very competitive in Canada. Also, remember that PG Diploma courses are professional in nature. You should instead complete the first year of MS degree in India itself and apply for MS again in Canada, many universities will suggest you the same. It is best you first check with the universities in Canada, check and compare the admission requirements before making any decision.
