You might get lower branches in some NITs but it's not worth it. You can go to other colleges or drop out and appear again next year. I suggest you take your time and focus on JEE core and progress. Because boards and JEE at the same time are difficult for many students to manage. Or your ideas aren't clear because you haven't given them enough time, so there's no harm in taking a drop.
