A student gets 3 chances for appearing in JEE Mains and of course in getting admission in one of the NIT from the passing year of 12th. So, by this logic, you are still eligible to get admission, but yes you have asked a very pertinent question. Here I would like to advise you that in the previous year almost 50% fresh engineering graduates were jobless. This does not mean that graduates from NIT were jobless. But this is an overall figure.
