Yes, CBSE renamed the compartment exams as supplementary exams based on the recommendations of NEP 2020. This was done in 2023 to offer opportunities for students to improve their performance in 10th/12th board exams. the objective was to shift the focus from simply passing the exams to enhancing overall performance.

CBSE will likely conduct the CBSE Class 12 supplementary exams 2026 on July 15, 2026 only for all subjects. The Board released the CBSE 12th date sheet for the supplementary exams in June on the official website- cbse.gov.in. Click on CBSE 12th supplementary date sheet 2026 to check the exam dates.

CBSE is expected to release the CBSE 12th admit card 2026 for supplementary exams in the first week of July 2026. Schools will download the admit cards from the official website and distribute them. Students must collect them from their schools and keep 2 copies with them. They must carry it with them on all exam days. No student will be allowed to write the supplementary exams without it.

CBSE does not advise students to do selective study for CBSE Class 12 examinations. The Board has prescribed syllabus for every subject. Students are expected to study thoroughly from the entire CBSE 12th syllabus and understand the concepts in order to score good marks in exams.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has concluded the process of CBSE 12th rechecking & verification of answer sheets 2025. Students could apply for scanned copies of their answer sheets to go through their answers and see the marking. Thereafter, they could apply for rechecking and reverification of the answer sheets.
