Q&A Icon
Commonly asked questions
On Admissions
Q:   I got 75% in Class 12. Can you assist me regarding admission to Hindu College?
A:

Hindu College admission for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes or courses is subject to the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) exam conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency). Earlier, the Delhi University admissions were offered according to the merit in the Class 12 but now after coming of Common University Entrance Test (CUET) exam, CUET results are considered for admissions. The competition has increased. So the candidates have to prepare well in advance for admission to various courses at Hindu College University of Delhi.

Q:   How can I get admission in Hindu College, Delhi?
A:

Hindu College admission for UG courses (as per DU) will be through Common Seat Allocation System of the University of Delhi. But, at first, it is necessary that aspirants opt for DU during CUET form filling and later apply on the CSAS portal to be eligible for admission. The admission process after CUET result declaration is explained below:

Step 1: After the declaration of the CUET UG exam, register on the DU CSAS portal in multiple phases.

Step 2: Submit College + Course combination preferences in the order of priority on the CSAS dashboard. Here student must select their preferred course and Hindu College as the option.

Step 3: The University will release the dates for DU CSAS Seat Allocation Lists for all categories.

  • The "freeze" option in seat allocation for CSAS (DU) is to be selected by the students to confirm their admission choice to the allocated college and course at DU.
  • If candidates are happy with the assigned college and course, they can freeze the request through their dashboard.
  • Once they select this option, they will not be considered for "upgradation" of choice in further rounds of CSAS.
  • Candidates must only select this option only if they are satisfied with the allocated seat and want to take admission to this course & college
  • If they do not choose to upgrade or freeze your admission, their current status will be maintained.

Step 4: Once the candidate "Accept" the provisionally allocated seat, the concerned college will verify the eligibility and documents uploaded by the candidate online. The college has an option to 'Accept' or 'Reject' the admission of the student basis the verification.

Step 5: Once Hindu college accords the approval, candidates will have to pay the 'Admission Fee' to confirm their seat.

On the basis of the availability of seats due to rejections, cancellations, and withdrawals, DU colleges may announce multiple allocation rounds. The University of Delhi will display the vacant seats on its admission website (admission.uod.ac.in) before every allocation round.

Honest review and job-focused reality.
Placements: In my course, Mathematics, I could SEE only a few (2-3) students getting placed. This is also because very few students in the mathematics department sign up for placements. I would say that the rate would be 10% for those who applied for placements in the math department. In my course, the highest was around 13 LPA, and the lowest was 5 LPA. 4-5 students got internships, which again depends on how many people applied in the first place. Top roles are sales and marketing, data analysis, and analysis.
Infrastructure: The boys' hostel has been under construction for a long time. It will be finished soon. Overall, the infrastructure is great. We get Wi-Fi access, and the library is amazing. There is no limit to resources because we get high-speed internet access in the library. However, the canteen food is bad: pricey, not cooked properly, not hygienic, too much oil and spices, limited options, and non-veg is sparsely available. I got diarrhea twice, once after having pav bhaji and once after a chicken roll.
Faculty: The only good thing is that the faculty is great and passionate. They love to teach. They love what they are teaching. The problem is the course structure. It is designed by the university. It is highly rigorous. It is completely proof-based. If someone wants to do application-based mathematics, quantitative mathematics, economics, and statistics-based mathematics, then those options are not there. It is not industry-ready per se, but if you can learn extra skills in either finance, consulting, technology, etc., then you will be a good candidate for placements.

Worth the money and absolutely good to go.
Placements: The placements offered are from top companies including DE Shaw, EY, ZS Associates, Uniqlo, United Airlines, and many more. The roles offered have a very diverse range, including consulting roles, data and market analyst, sales and marketing, and strategy analyst in finance too. The internship cell is also very active in the college. A large percentage of students get their placements.
Infrastructure: Facilities are available in the computer lab or in the library. There is no Wi-Fi facility. In classrooms in our department, there is AC. And there's a problem with Wi-Fi in college. Talking about the hostel, the mess food is manageable. Good sports and games are rare. Medical facilities are available.
Faculty: Teachers for commerce subjects are very qualified and at the same time very helpful and approachable. Other than core subjects, there are subjects like AEC, VAC, and SEC, which have numerous options from various departments that you can choose from. It’s a great option to explore your interests or learn something related or unrelated to your curriculum. The semester exams are not very tough and can be passed easily. The attendance criteria should be taken into consideration, or you might get detained.

Absolutely satisfied with the college except campus life.
Infrastructure: There is only a girls' hostel. The boys' hostel is under construction and would be ready in the next one or two years. The infrastructure of the classes is not up to the mark. You will get ACs in the Commerce department. Wi-Fi is provided on the campus. The canteen is quite affordable and of decent quality.
Faculty: The course subject teachers are very knowledgeable and qualified. They are also quite lawful and helpful. It has also included SEC, VAC, and GE in our curriculum, which helps us on average. The teachers put a lot of burden. They are good enough and likable.

Dream come true college. From affordability to placements, it is super good.
Placements: The placement ratio is quite high, with over 90 percent of the people either placed or pursuing higher studies, and the highest package of last year being 24 LPA, median 9.6 LPA, and the lowest 4.2 LPA. Mostly consulting firms hire most of the students. The on-campus internship ratio is quite low, as only 6–7 out of a batch of 120 get internships, and mostly people seek off-campus internships.
Infrastructure: The Hindu Boys Hostel is still under construction. As for the overall infrastructure, it is quite worn out. Wi-Fi speed is quite low. Classroom benches are not very comfortable. However, overall it is regularly maintained, and the newly constructed library has almost all the required books and a good environment for studying.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are really helpful and duly qualified. They provide us almost all the required important questions and duly cover all the topics. As for the relevance of this course, it needs alteration, as the majority of the subjects may not hold similar significance in the actual world. The pass percentage is quite high, almost 98 percent of students pass the exams, with varying difficulty levels.

It is a good college if we are ready to take the initiative.
Placements: 60-70 percent of students who apply for placements get placed. Top companies like Accenture, DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, BCN, Nation with Namo, and Future First hire students. Some companies also come for internships, but the number of selected students is low. A majority of students look for off-campus internships.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and facilities are decent. Rooms are air-conditioned, with all classes having projectors. Wi-Fi is not good, and it barely works. Boys hostel is still under construction, and girls hostel is available. The canteen is good. Sports facilities aren't much, but they have sports like cricket and basketball.
Faculty: Some teachers are really good, and others just dictate stuff in the class without any fruitful explanation. The attendance criteria are 67 percent, which is mandatory, with no exceptions except for medical emergencies. The overall culture is good, and peer learning is great.

Good ROI for an undergraduate college with good placements.
Placements: A pretty good number of students who sit for placement get one as well, roughly around 70 percent of the crowd got the shortlist with the highest as 25 LPA and median 9 LPA. Recruiting companies like BCN, DE Shaw, EY, Nation With NAMO, ZS Associate, etc., comes to campus offering diverse roles.
Infrastructure: All the basic facilities from air-conditioners to light, water dispensers, and a well-equipped library, are available on the campus. There is Wi-Fi availability in selected parts of the campus. Quality of food is also decent compared to basic facilities at other PGs and hostels.
Faculty: Teachers and other faculty of the campus are well educated and do help us with our queries and any sort of help. Beyond this the curriculum is a bit outdated in terms of the needs of the job market but with NEP skill added and value-added courses are also added. Exams are easy to pass as well.
