Clinical Psychology

Assuming that you have never studied psychology before in school or otherwise. I would suggest that first you go through NCERT books of class 11 and 12 psychology. Once you are clear about the concepts there. You can move on to a graduation level book of psychology. A book called "Intro. To psychology" by Robert Baron is a must. It covers all most all basics and is a recommended reading in most undergraduate courses of psychology. In addition to that there is a wonderful online course on psychology by Yale University conducted by Professor Paul bloom. You can find it on YouTube. These lectures are easy to understand and professor Bloom doesn't bore you. There are off course other lecture series such as one by Berkeley, and others, you can watch them but I feel, Bloom's series is sufficient and easy to grasp at least for entrances purposes. Entrances to M.A. Psychology and M.A. Applied Psychology are usually conducted around May-July, assuming that you are aiming for these, I would recommend the above "three" only. Written entrances in DU are of MCQ type, so if you "really" clear about basics, you can clear the written. You may grab a book for Abnormal psychology by Carson & Butcher, Organisational behaviour by Greenberg & Baron and a book on Social psychology by Baron & Bhardwaj. These three papers are the major focus of undergraduate and both post graduate courses, thus the recommendation. You should also regularly read articles about psychology. American Psychological Association's website is a good source about books, journals, and magazine. For organisational behaviour, Harvard business review is good. Other than that do read research articles. I feel this much should get you through both the written and interview.

The Computer based National Entrance test TISSNET will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2019, from 2pm to 3.40 pm in 39 centers located in different parts of the country. 1. English proficiency :- To assess English language comprehension and usage (30 % weightage). This covers the followings as Word Choice/ sentence correction, Odd-one-out & Analogies, Synonyms & Antonyms, Grammar, Verbal reasoning and Reading comprehension.
2. Mathematics and Logical reasoning unto standard X level (30 % weightage) :-To assess quantitative skills and logical reasoning. This covers the followings as Basic Arithmetic, Basic Geometry, Basic Trigonometry, Basic Statistics, Number Series, Data interpretation and Logical reasoning.
3. General Awareness :- To assess awareness about current affairs and understanding of social issues (40 % weightage). This covers the followings as Politics, Social Studies, Science & Technology, Environment, Sports, Art & Culture and Indian History.
