The online application process has already started for admission to Assam University in mid-May. Admission to undergraduate and integrated courses offered at Assam University is on the basis of marks scored in the CUET exam. The application process at Assam University entails six steps, including personal information, general information, exam information, educational information, declaration, and final submission. The Assam University application procedure must be completed online on the university's official website by all interested applicants. Application for CUET-UG must be made at cuet.samarth.ac.in. A selection list is then made available when university-level admissions counselling has concluded.

Assam University is a central university established by an act of Parliament in 1994. It has two campuses, one each in Diphu and Silchar. With a Grade B, the NAAC has certified Assam University. According to NIRF 2023, Assam University is ranked 100–151 in the University category. There are 16 schools at the teaching-cum-affiliated university that provide courses in the fields of Humanities, Languages, Environmental Sciences, Information Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Law, Technology and Management Studies.
