Yes, the ranks usually "slide" or increase. For example, in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, the rank moved from 59,252 in Round 1 to 89,902 in the Last Round. This means if you don't get a seat in the first list, you still have a chance in the final rounds as more seats become available.

It depends on the specific specialisation. While the main BE in Computer Science and Engineering branch at Sapthagiri College of Engineering closed at 66,750, you might have a better chance in Data Science or Electronics and Communication, which had similar or slightly higher closing ranks.
