The college's admission seems to be based on the TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) counseling process, which suggests that they consider the scores of the 10+2 board examinations for admission to their BTech program. Velammal Institute of Technology is a premier private educational institution that was established in 2008. The Institute is affiliated with Anna University and is approved by the AICTE and NBA. The Institute has also been accredited by NAAC. Velammal Institute of Technology is known for its flagship BE and B.Tech programs. Velammal Institute of Technology (VITech) accepts admission through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling process. The institute does not conduct its own entrance exam for B.Tech admissions. Admission is based on the TNEA Counseling and its cut-off. Therefore, the TNEA scores are the primary criteria for B.Tech admission to VITech.

The Kattankulathur (KTR) campus has 360 students enrolled in the BBA programme each year. The BBA degree at SRM School of Management Chennai is a three-year undergraduate business administration program. The curriculum is highly sought after because it delivers a comprehensive learning experience.
