Sir, it is not possible to change branch. You are a little bit late to ask this question. The criteria for branch change is after 1st year i.e. 2nd sem of engineering. After 4th sem, you can't change branch. Now, your son will have to carry on with the same branch.

If you are from the general category, you will get nothing from this score because your rank will be around 60000, but if you are a category student then there is a chance of getting civil, electrical or mechanical.

The highest package being offered for this year by Amazon was Rs. 15.20 LPA where 2 students got placed and the average package as on date is Rs. 7.75 LPA.
Around 60 % of the batch is placed at present. The companies visiting for 2018 include HDFC Bank, Ernst & Young, Amazon, Housing Firs

There are many courses in various fields offered in various institutes in India. It depends on you. choose the course in which you interested. If you interested in engineering then you may take admission in IIT

The correct order as per my observations would be MDI Murshidabad, IMI Kolkata and then IMI Bhubaneswar.

Cut-offs are not released officially. It's their internal process only.

MDI, Murshidabad is a good choice for finance. Go for that, the average package is around 9LPA.
