College, uses a combination of merit and entrance exam score for B.Tech / BE addmission that students need to have passed their 10+2 with at least 50% marks and also qualify in exam like KCET, COMEDK, or JEE mains, depend on specific course.

NIT Surathkal M.Tech cutoff 2025 for Round 1 was between 316 and 711 for the students from OBC All India quota. The cutoff scores changes for different rounds, specialisations, categories, and quotas. For the OBC category students, the most competitive M.Tech specialisation during Round 1 admission was Computer Science and Engineering (711), followed by CSE (Information Security) (694) and Computational and Data Science (685)
