There is no seat reservation at the university for SC/ST candidates. However, Alagappa University reserve seats for differently-abled students applying for the BSc course. The university reserve 5% of seats in each course for this category candidates. Apart from this, the SC/ST candidates may get some seat relaxation, if approved by the government of Tamil Nadu.

The university admit candidates as per the sanctioned seat intake for the respective college. It follows the reservation policy as prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Moreover, there are 5% seats reserved for the differently-abled students (Government Letter No.12599/K2/2017-1, dated 21.07.2017). To avail seat under this category, candidates have to submit the relevant documents.

The latest Alagappa University BSc placements report has not been released as of now. However, the university NIRF report 2024 is out. As per the report, 61 UG (three-year) students were placed, out of 216. The median package offered to the placed students as per NIRF report is:

No, Alagappa University BSc course admission is merit-based. Candidates are admitted to the UG programmes based on merit in the last qualifying examination, i.e., Class 12. The university or its affiliated colleges may release a cutoff list to declare the minimum aggregate.
However, for the BSc in Nautical Sciences course, candidates shall have a valid score of IMUCET. This programme is offered by Coimbatore Marine College. Also, admission to BSc in Physical Education course is done based on candidates performance in the Medical Test, Physical Efficiency Test, and Games Test marks.

Applicant must have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam from a recognised board. For BSc in Physical Education admission, the applicant shall have passed the exam with 40% (35% for reserved category) aggregate with proficiency in sports. The upper age limit for admission to BSc (Catering Science and Hotel Management) is 21 years. Students must check eligibility conditions carefully before admission form filling. The relevant documents also have to submit at the time of admission.

Alagappa University BSc fee is a cumulative of multiple components, such as tuition fee, security deposit, etc. The fee for the UG programme varies at the university and its affiliated colleges. It also varies depending upon the mode of study of the chosen programme. The total tuition fee for the UG course ranges between INR 7,500 and INR 8 lakh.
