While students at Harvey Mudd College can find on-campus employment relatively easily, off-campus part-time jobs are subject to strict regulations for international students. For on campus employment, the office of human resources helps international students get part time employment and helps them solve their queries. Student employees are allowed to work for 20 hours per week. To get on campus employment students need to complete Form I-9 eligibility verification. The college has a portal with all job postings available called Handshake. Students can find relevant jobs on the portal and apply for them.

Finding off campus part time jobs can be a little complicated for international students at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. This includes Optional Practical Training (OPT) or Curriculum Practical Training (CPT) under specific conditions after one year of graduation.

Graduate Assistant- Graduate Assistants at the university offer professional non-teaching assistance to faculty members of the university. They offer assistance to the teaching staff with professional and technical duties.

Instructional Student Assistants- The instructional student assistant perform duties that involve grading, teaching work, and tutoring.

Student Assistants- Student assistants perform both skilled and unskilled work in a variety of positions that requires manual, clerical, analytical skills, and public contact.
