No, an admission interview is not required for Academy of Art University admissions. However, if applicants believe that an interview shall help the admission representative to evaluate their strengths in a better way, then the university encourages applicants to set up an interview by contacting the International Admissions Department.

As such for Academy of Art University admissions for international students, there is no minimum GPA requirement. The university maintains the tradition of an open admission policy. In the case of admission for undergraduate courses, the applicant’s high school grades and SAT scores do not always measure the potential in order to be a successful designer or artist. Undergraduates at the university are accepted with the commitment that they will apply themselves to learning the skills that will help them prepare for a rewarding career in their chosen field.
