At a percentile of 97 and rank in JEE Mains CRL 47,474, the chances of getting admission into tier 1 colleges for CSE might be quite slim. Though your EWS rank is about 7,000, which increases your probability of getting admission, top institutes like IITs and NITs usually ask for ranks that are lower than 7,000 for CSE. But you might get some admission in IIITs or new NITs. Monitor the JoSAA counseling process for updates about opening and closing ranks in order to maximize your opportunities.

For the year 2024, VIT Vellore reported an average package of 9.9 LPA and a the highest package of 88 LPA and saw participation from 867 recruiters, which included top companies like Amazon and Microsoft12. On the other hand, Symbiosis Pune has a strong placement record but usually offers lower average packages compared to VIT. Therefore, if placement is the main concern, VIT Vellore is the better choice for pursuing IT.

You can see that, with a JEE percentile of 51 and a rank of 729,689, B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering may not be a choice for you. The private college or university which is the lower-tier option might allow higher ranks. The following may be the choices available to you: Shivaji University, especially for its engineering courses, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, where you may get the course that you are interested in studying, and PES University. It is prudent to engage in counseling process and explore available seats in various engineering disciplines since various colleges have different cutoffs.
