For admission to IIT Bhilai MTech course, students are admitted through a valid GATE score. As per the selection process, candidates must pass graduation with BTech from a recognised board. Further, candidates need to appear for GATE entrance exams and get a qualifying score to get shortlisted for the course. Later on, the final seat allotment is done through COAP Counselling session. Students who are graduated from IIT are exempted from the GATE entrance score requirement.

- Hostels: IIT Bhilai is a fully residential campus. It offers single occupancy air-conditioned and semi-furnished rooms. Additionally, each hostel building has a TV room, a reading room, etc. Also, it has space for playing indoor games such as carom, table tennis, chess, and badminton.

In 2025, the IIT Jammu CSE cutoff was relatively less competitive for admission as compared to that of IIT Goa for students belonging to the General AI quota. However, as compared to IIT Bhilai, for CSE admission in the General category, the JEE Advanced cutoff range was more competitive for IIT Jam
