Basics of Mathematics should be good. Mathematics is the language of designs. Mathematics provides the modelling of a concept. Programming comes after Mathematics. For example, once you know that 2 plus 2 is 4, then try to model this using tools of programming, say, tools in FORTRAN77 you adjust with the statement or concept. More difficult the statement or concept more is the difficulty in writing the code. Regards.
