You can select a maximum of 10 subjects for CUET exam, the total number of selected subjects should not exceed 10.Though preference should be given to subject which are more relevant to your course of choice.

Yes, according to my knowledge general test is compulsory in CUET for admission to B.A. LL.B. Although it can be optional for some other courses also.
