I did MBA from LPU and LPU is helping me grow professionally and personally with its career-oriented programs and support but I had one roommate from fashion designing department. She was pursuing B. Design fashion. She has discussed few things which I am sharing with you:-
She told me Study tours are an integral part of curriculum with visitation of architectural and prominent sites provides maximum exposure to learn technicalities of architecture. She said, Fashion designing is a branch having a lot of scope and in LPU, they give a lot of exposure to students, through guest lectures from industry top shots, various in campus and out campus fashion shows, and also they have their own store where the students creations are showcased and sold. The school provides a platform for students to experiment with creative designs, patterns, fabrics and colors. Live with fashion events, visits by renowned national and international fashion designers, innovation and creativity is fostered in the students at every step. They are encouraged to experiment with different materials to create conceptual wear and accessories. Also Students are exposed to fashion shows, craft fairs, industry internships and craft documentation. They get intensive exposure to practical work in Pattern making, Draping, Weaving, Printing, Dyeing, Garment Construction labs. Students are given various Live-projects during the course of the programme to create commercially viable designs. School of Design organized Face Painting and nail painting competition for students to showcase their creative talents. She has attended workshop on "Fashion styling" by Anuj Lalawani (Renowned Designer & Stylist) where students got training in different creative endeavors like body fit, make up, dressing and grooming. She went to educational tours to complement in-class learning.
