If you are specifically talking about government jobs after completing Master of science in jewellery design and management, then there are very few opportunities in this field. It's more of a private job thing. But you can get a job in teaching field in government colleges of designing like NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology), NID (National Institute of Design), etc. But for that you have to complete your education first. You need to do Bachelor's as well as Master's and then PhD. If you don't want to do PhD then you should have 2 years of experience after your Master's (only the experience after your Master's will be counted). Apart from teaching line, ministry of textile and Handicrafts & Handloom Exports Council of India also offers some government jobs, but for that you need to have experience in craft sector.
One can always apply for SSC jobs.

I am not very sure whether one can get good placement opportunities after completing Masters from M. S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences or not. You should do it from a place where it's worth paying fees and you can get to learn enough.If you want to do Bachelor's in designing only then there are much better colleges for it like NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology ), NID (National Institute of Design), IIT-CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design). These colleges are design specialised and will give you better career opportunities. These all are government colleges and comes under top 50 design colleges all over the world. One can easily get a starting salary of 3 LPA from them.I hope you will make a good decision.

There is no room for doubt, you should definitely go for National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad over Apeejay Stya University. It's a government college and the best college for design in India and comes under the list of top 50 colleges all over the world. National Institute of Designing interviews are held only to check whether you are really interested in that course or not. They want to see how keen you are to pursue for that particular course and what is the reason behind it. Personal interviews are not to check your abilities or the speaking skills or the language because you have already cleared the GAT (General Ability Test), so it's clear to them that you are good at English language and you have knowledge about design and you are creative.
So, they only ask you very general questions like:
- Tell me something about yourself?
- Where are you from?
- What do your parents do?
- Which college you are from?
- Why do you want to pursue for this course?- Why did you choose NID for this course?- How do you think this course will help you in your future?
- What are your future planes?- What are your interests and hobbies?
- What are your strengths?- Why did you score less in your Bachelor's?

First of all there is nothing like a successful designer like thing. They are all successful businessmen, not merely designers. To make a name in the fashion industry, especially in a country like India then you need to think like a businessman, not like a fashion designer. You can outsource things rather to make and design them for yourself. Search for the vendor, who can make garments for you. One needs to think about customer point of view and then design smartly according to the customers need. You can also do some short Diploma courses from colleges like NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) or from wherever you prefer to do it from. Some of the Diploma courses you can pursue are:
- Fashion designing
- Apparel designing
- Styling
- Fashion history
- Entrepreneurship
- Fashion marketing
- Apparel production
- Textile designing

Fashion designing in Alld university is categorised under the IPS department which is Institute for professional studies. There are four courses under IPS among which fashion designing is one. The admission forms for the entrance exam will be available around April.
The exam will be conducted in the month of may or June. You can fill the form online by visiting the official site of alld university. After qualifying the entrance exam you will be called for counseling in the IPS/food and technology department and will be confirmed for the admission.
Syllabus for entrance exam is not specific. The exam is conducted online. You will be allotted a centre for the exam in your preferred city and you will have to answer through computer as there will be 150 objective questions related to G.K, fashion and some logical and analytical ability questions.
As for me, I did not study an inch for the exam and yet backed the 2nd rank among 500 girls.
So if you too are a mediocre at studies, just be updated with current affairs.
It's a girls course and the department of fashion designing is in the women's hostel of alld university.

Ramaiah university of applied Science are very non design background colleges. You should do it from a place where its worth paying fees and can get to learn enough. If you want to do master's in designing only then there are much better colleges for it like NIFT (national institute of fashion technology ), NID (national institute of design), IIT - UCEED ( undergraduate common entrance examination for design ). These colleges are design specialised and will give you better career opportunities. these are all government colleges and comes under the top 50 design colleges all over the world. one can easily get an starting salary of three Lacs per annum atlest. Go for higher studies or pursue for a job after completing Bachelors in science jewelry design and management. If you want to do government jobs or you are very keep to study further then you should go for higher studies. Otherwise, if you want to do private jobs only, then it's better you start early because in industry, experience is always more valuable than a Master's degree. So, why to pay fee for another two years? It's better you earn money and add up to your experience because what you learn in the industry is totally different than what you learn at college. Jewelry designing is more of a practical subject which you learn with experience more.
