Lateral entry into B.E./B.Tech is based on your Diploma aggregate. There is not separate entrance Test for lateral entry into engineering colleges in Maharashtra. Some colleges may conduct their own entrance test. But maximum colleges follow the procedure set by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra. For admissions into direct 2nd year engineering every year CAP (Common Admission Process) rounds are held by DTE. You have to register on DTE's Official Website. MBA is a degree, PGDM is a Diploma and there are some courses named like certifications, programmes, etc. They will be what they are described as. It may get a little complicated if you are seeking eligibility requirements. Hence it is always better to read official notifications for such things.

Candidate should have a 3-year Diploma degree after matriculation is eligible to appear for the exam. All the applicants should have attained a minimum age of 17 years for admission through lateral entry in different engineering courses.

You should go for B.Tech in CSE. As, that will give your resume a good boost and later on you can also expect a good salary if you are good in your technical. If you are good at even in one language in your stream then you can expect a good future.
