Diploma Holders in engineering with a minimum of 50% marks in the final examination, conducted by the Board of Technical Examination, Government of Pune or its equivalent, are eligible for admission to the corresponding branch of Second Year engineering.

The job scope after doing Diploma and engineering in CSE is same as others. You have to be good at the fundamentals and the basics or else getting a job is not possible. You could do certain certified courses along with your engineering like cloud computing or data Science or SEO (search engine optimization) which is becoming popular now. Cut off marks for admission to a diploma varies from one state to another state and also for different category of persons based on caste. In general, with special reference to Tamil nadu State ,I can give the MAX-MIN% cut off for different category.However, this may vary slightly upwards/downwards.
OC and forward caste persons is varies from 100 to 80% of total marks in SSLC/SSC(10th class)
BC is varies from 79 to 60% of total marks.in SSLC/SSC(10th class)
MBC is varies from 59 to 40% of total marks.in SSLC/SSC(10th class)
