According to the UGC, all the degrees are equal value and for the government services. It is not a problem. Most of the public sector companies are not accepting the distance education and all are asking for a full-time degree with a minimum of 60% of marks.
So, my personal experience is, distance education degrees will not have a good worth. But in the case of serving employees in the government sector/private sector for promotion prospectus, it is useful to do distance education degrees. If a person wants to start a career with distance education degrees, it is somewhat difficult.

B.Tech distance/correspondence courses are not approved and recognized by MHRD, DEC and AICTE. Hence never do this. It is better to seek B.Tech lateral admission in any reputed institution. The colleges offer B.Tech lateral admission are listed below:
1. Delhi Technological University
2. Punjab University, Chandigarh
3. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala
4. PTU, Jalandhar.

Distance learning B.Tech courses are not recognized by MHRD, DEC and AICTE. Hence never do such type of courses if offered by some institutes. In my opinion, you should go with lateral entry B.Tech regular courses offered by some reputed institutions like Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Delhi Technological University, Punjab University, etc.

Opt for NMIMS any day because with NMIMS come with a big brand name which will always be helpful. As in MBA, brand value matters a lot.
