Candidates should have possessed following eligibility criteria defined by IGNOU for B.Ed Program:
Candidates with at least fifty percent marks either in the Bachelor's degree and/or in the Master's degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity, and Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with specialization in science and mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme.
The following categories are eligible to be the students of B.Ed (ODL):
(i) Trained in-service teachers in elementary education;
(ii) Candidates who have completed an NCTE recognized teacher education programme through face-to-face mode.
Admission shall be done on the basis of the score obtained in the entrance test conducted by IGNOU all over India.

You can apply for the Bachelor's degree programme (BDP) at IGNOU which includes B.Sc programme. One of them is Life Sciences. So, you need to select elective courses of life Science or LSE in order to get a degree in that. IGNOU has a credit system based programmes. So, you have to complete32 credits per year and thus 96 credits in 3 years. For the first year, 16 credits will be from foundation courses. The rest of the credits is from your elective courses. To get a major degree i.e, B.Sc. (major) [IGNOU also has another degree called B.Sc. (general)], you need have 48 credits from the subject you wish to major. So, in your case, 48 credits from LSE. Only in the 3rd year, it is decided whether you have a B.Sc (zoo) or B.Sc (bot) where it depends upon the choice of your elective subject.
