DoMS IIT Madras - Department of Management Studies

Aspirants must pass two to five years dual degree along with five years of managerial experience (for part-time & external) to apply for DoMS IIT Madras PhD course. Other than meeting the eligibility, candidates must have also qualified GATE/ CAT/ UGC-JRF/ UGC NET/ CSIR-JRF/ Research Aptitude Test, have an SOP and appear for the Personal Interview round for final selection. 

Other than E-MBA, DoMS IIT Madras offers a one-year PGPEX VLM to students with work experience. E-MBA applications should be submitted online via the official website of the institute. Mentioned below is the list of documents required while filling the application. Size of documents must be less than 1MB each:

• Passport-size photo and signature (in JPEG)
• Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets
• Bachelor's degree certificate and mark sheets
• Letters certifying work experience
• Category certificate (if applicable)
• Sponsorship letter (if applicable)
• CV with details of work experience only (not exceeding 3 pages)

Candidates with the below qualifications can apply for E-MBA at DoMS IIT Madras:

• A pass in the relevant bachelor's degree with 60% and above aggregate

For MBA admission, candidates who have applied are further shortlisted based on the composite score (calculated using CAT score, past academic performance, experience, gender and diversity) for a Virtual Interview. The weightage aligned to each and every component of MBA admission selection is as follows:

For other courses, however, students are either selected on the basis of their academic background, personal interview, SOP of institute conducted entrance exam. 

In addition to qualifying CAT, candidates must have completed a relevant UG degree with 55% aggregate. Followed by aplication and after getting shortlisted, MBA interviews are conducted by DoMS IIT Madras in multiple cities of India which are likely to change every year. Admission to IIT Madras DoMS is only subject to candidates' performance in CAT followed by their performance in the institute-level Personal Interview (PI) and their performance in past academics. Candidates seeking admission must carry the be their scanned passport-size photo & scanned signature, CAT/ GMAT/ other exam score card copy, SC/ ST/ PwD certificate (if applicable), Certificate of CGPA to percentage conversion and consolidated grade sheet (if applicable) for the admission process.

For MBA, students cannot get direct entry to DoMS IIT Madras. There is a rigorous selection criteria set for the same which is inclusive of a valid score in CAT exam, students' past academic performance, performance in PI round, etc. For E-MBA and PGPEX-VLM, however, admission is offered based on the score in the entrance exam conducted by the institute.

As per the verified reviews published on Shiksha, IIT Madras DoMS places 90-100% students every year. During the placements 2022, the highest salary offered was INR 25.30 LPA and the average salary stood at INR 16.66 LPA. In terms of ranking, the institute is ranked at position 10 by NIRF 2022.
