No, there is nothing changing in the "Listen and Respond" question type. You will still be able to play the audio from characters only once for each individual response.

However, a key update to the overall Interactive Listening section (effective July 1, 2025) is that the initial scenario for the conversation will now be presented in audio format instead of text.

There is no limit on this. You can replay the scenario audio unlimited times in the Interactive Listening section. This applies both during the initial "Listen and Complete" part and the subsequent "Listen and Respond" questions. You'll find the replay option at the top of the page.

You should aim for at least 2 to 3 official practice tests before your real Duolingo English Test. This helps you get comfortable with the adaptive format of test and manage time. However you can take more than 2 to 3 according to your preferences. Focus on understanding mistakes and improving rather than just taking many tests.

The Duolingo English Test (DET) doesn't offer a traditional 'question PDF' like some other exams because it's an adaptive online test. This means questions change based on your answers. Furthermore, even if you attempt several mock tests, it's impossible to get the exact same question again.

No! There is not any list of topics for Duolingo English Test. Questions of this exam can cover a wide range of current affairs topics. The objective of DET is to assess candidate's English language ability and not your knowledge of a particular field. It is advisable to focus on improving your language proficiency only for getting better score.

There is no fixed syllabus for the Duolingo English Test. It checks your skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. It includes short questions like filling in missing words, describing pictures, reading aloud, and answering questions in your own words. The test is adaptive, meaning it gets easier or harder based on your answers, and takes about 1 hour to complete.

The Duolingo English Test generally takes approximately one hour to complete. This includes a quick setup (5 minutes), the scored adaptive sections (45 minutes), and the video interview/writing sample (10 minutes). Other than this, there is no other part of exam.
