Admission to the course is based on the rank obtained in the UPES-EAT JEE Main etc. And performance in personal interview. For IITs, it is mandatory to qualify the Joint Entrance Examinations (J. E. Electrical engineering always wins over electronics engineering when it comes to practical world. You can easily get an electronics seat over an electrical, and it is always prefred. After B.E / B.Tech if you are an IES aspirant then electronics is not considered as a branch ( only core branches are included, including electrical engineering ).

It would be very difficult I guess but it depends on a lot of factor like, average score this year, people applying and then taking admission. A lot of people apply in Thakur for minority quota so it makes it very competitive and difficult.

You can refer the previous years of COMEDK. But, PESSAT may be a little tuff compared to COMEDK.
